What is PressCrowd?
PressCrowd is a simple Question & Answer platform. Just ask a question about a journalist / blogger / outlet you’re trying to pitch, and get answers from other publicists.
Who’s on PressCrowd?
Our members range from the most seasoned pros to newby grads, and from agencies to in-house teams. Everyone here shares a common pain – researching (err…stalking) journos on Cision, Vocus, Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Why should I join?
The media universe is too complicated, and if you’re like most publicists you spend way too much time doing basic research about who to pitch. PressCrowd allows you to tap into the collective knowledge of our “crowd” to get the info you need to find contacts and pitch stories.
What questions should I ask?
You’re free to ask anything, but the most common questions are about contacts and pitch advice. For instance, “Who should I pitch at Travel & Leisure for a story on a new luxury hotel?” or “What’s the best way to pitch a personal interest story on TechCrunch?”
I’m anonymous? Why LinkedIn?
Yes, you will always remain anonymous on PressCrowd. We require you to Login with Linkedin so that we can verify that you’re a qualified communications pro. However, you select an anonymous avatar and alias when you sign-up, and your real identity will never be shown to any members on the site. Ever.
